Small Place
by LK, Latvia & London
“My family lives scattered across Europe.
“But it’s alright. The world is such a small place nowadays.” At least, that's what I told everyone when I announced I was moving to the UK last spring.
“Flights to the UK take less time than a bus ride from the capital to my hometown back home,” I laughed. Ten months later, and because of Covid 19, all of a sudden the world is not such a small place at all, is it?
On the bright side, never before had my family and I gone on daily video chats to share the “little stories” of our everyday lives. Still, I miss just sitting next to them terribly. And not knowing when it's going to be possible to get back home is dancing on my nerves.
But when that day comes – what a JOY it's going to be!”
