Spring

“In this scary time when we’re isolating at home, worries can transform into more difficult feelings. But over the last few weeks of isolation, I’ve started to notice plants growing and the trees outside budding, all preparing to burst from winter into spring.

This morning, I discovered a poppy that had popped up and bloomed in a DAY! I’d have never spotted that a few weeks ago and I am sure it wasn’t there yesterday. We’ve all been living in the fast lane, but by slowing down you can notice all the other living things cracking on with their wondrous and previously under-appreciated lives - taking back spaces where they might previously have been trampled.

I’m hopeful that isolation might help us change how we value the world around us and watching things grow definitely helps me to feel better about what’s happening now.”
